Youth Groups Multi-Activities

youth activitiesCourses that are run over a weekend as well as five day courses provide a great opportunity to try out a range of adventure activities such as, rock climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, abseiling, gorge scrambling, kayaking, snowboarding, mountain walking and skiing. Skilled instructors will encourage and support youths as their skills develop.

This is a great way to find out a hidden skill and gives the young people enthusiasm to return to such skill developing activities the following year. Youths require a good level fitness but no previous experience is needed, although, having a good sense of adventure and the willingness to have fun is helpful.

Young people that haven’t yet tried adventure sports should be encouraged to have a go. Skiing and snowboarding are very popular youth activities in the winter in Scotland and the North of England and although these can be relatively dangerous, highly trained instructors always look after the young groups at all times. They also provide all required equipment.

Whether young people have a clear idea of what activities they would like to take part in or not, the youth group leaders and instructors are there to advise and allow them to try out many different sorts of activities if they so wish.
